I always love to check out resources for bloggers, each blogger has their own point of view and they always share something new. I learned so much from them that I thought it would be a good idea to share my own resources and a list of products and services that  has helped me based on my own experiences and also some that people tend to use and say they are good and worth it!

BUILDING A FRAMEWORK by Abby Lawson

DOMAIN NAME SET UP

I got my domain through Google but the provider is ENOMS. I’m really happy with them, no problems so far.

I also know that many, many people buy their domains through:

HOSTING SERVICE

iPage

I started as a blogger with Blogger.com but when I saw my blog growing I decided to take it to the next level and decided to become self-hosted and after researching and debating I decided to go for iPage. There was a number of factors that made me choose it. First one, my mom already was hosted there and she had had no problems with them and she was very happy. Second, price!. They have unbeatable starting prices and I went ahead and bought 3 years in advanced to get that price. I have 3 years to save enough to pay the renewal. I think iPage might be one of the most expensive when I get to pay the full price but the initial price is totally worth it. The customer service is very good, I haven’t called but I have used their live chat. Is fast, and they are so kind and helpful. I had a series of issues with my database and they were so supportive and they solved every issue.

Media Temple

After iPage, I just didn’t really want to go with big authority hosting companies to be honest. Actually, I wanted a smaller company who probably cares about each customer and would pay attention to my specific needs. To be honest I kind of felt that with ASO and with Media Temple. I also was certain that I wanted a WordPress Managed host/plan because those are servers specially setup to handle WordPress sites because of its complexity and requirements.

Media Temple was highly recommended by big successful bloggers like Abby from Just a Girl and Her Blog and Jenny from The NY Melrose Family, so I just followed my gut with MT and so far I’m not regretting it. My whole site loads faster. My dashboard now works faster and I couldn’t be happier in that sense. I definitely recommend Media Temple for WP bloggers with big blogs with high traffic. They have different plans for each type of blog so you have plenty of room to grow.

I’ll probably update this post in the future, adding my new experiences but so far I’m super, super happy with MT.

Bluehost

A lot of people have told me this host is very good. I’m not using it but I know many of my fellow blogger do and they say great thing about it. They have also good prices to start, not as cheap but the regular price is not so high so it’s kind of even. It’s a good deal. I can’t tell about customer service for myself only what I’ve heard.

To be honest sometimes Host service is about bit of luck. I’ve read all kind of reviews from almost all of the hosting services. Some people say iPage has terrible customer service but maybe that day the guy who talked to him was in a bad mood or something or was the guy who didn’t know about that specific issue, who knows. The thing is that sometimes we need to take risks and be prepared for anything that can happen hoping for the best of course. So far it’s been great for me.

WORDPRESS THEMES AND BLOGGER TEMPLATES

TCN Design Studio. Websites and Blog Designs made with love.

We proudly offer our services for a 100% customized blog/website. We don’t have pre-made templates or themes. I design based on each person’s style, needs and desires. I try to connect with my clients and understand how they are, how they feel and how they see themselves as bloggers or websites owners. We work on both platforms: Blogger and WordPress. We DO NOT work with Genesis Framework because we offer a complete and customizable theme template, which will have your name on it.

She’s who makes my designs possible!

PicMonkey. I’m taking this from the point of view of the 90% of my fellow bloggers who use it. It is easy to use and reasonably priced.  It’s a great graphic design tool that is really easy to catch on to, and they keep adding more and more options and making it better and better. Not only can you create graphics and labels in PicMonkey’s “design” feature, you can also edit photos and create collages as well.

I personally use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for editing and Adobe Illustrator for designs and logos.
