Girls Crafty Hair Accessories Holder

Hello lovely friends. For those of you that are like me, crazy about hair bows and hair bands for your girls, I’m sharing this cute Girls crafty hair accessories holder. It’s cute, it’s fun and there are tons of possibilities depending on the size you choose. I’ve made a jewelry holder before and it turned out great so why not give the hair accessories a place too, right?

DIY Girls Crafty Hair Accessories Holder Tutorial

I saw this idea shared on my link party a few months ago by Home, Heart and Hands and I knew I needed to make one. All my girl’s accessories were in containers or bags and I love having things handy so Anna’s Hair Bow Challenge idea was my perfect solution: a Hair Accessories Holder!

Here’s how I made it!

What you need:

  • Different Ribbons colors and patterns {I got mine from Hairbow Supplies Etc.}
  • Scrapbooking paper
  • A rectangular plain photo frame
  • Washi tape
  • Cut outs
  • Hot glue gun
  • Thread and needle.

Open your photo frame and start applying washi tape on the frame.

Then cut a piece of scrapbooking paper with the frame paper size. Place your cut outs on the paper and glue them as you wish. I made my Girl’s name and some cute flowers with my silhouette.

Place your creation back in the photo frame and leave it aside.

Measure the length of your ribbon. Make it as long as you wish and as many as your photo frame allows, leaving enough space to handle the hairbows.

If you want to have hairbands thread then get and extra strip of ribbon and don’t cut it yet. You should have 2 ribbons for this. I used a solid wide one as my base and a polka-dot narrower one.

Make marks with a ruler on the solid one every 6 cm {2 1/4  inches}. Then make marks every 9 cm {3 1/2 inches}. Pin together each mark as shown bellow.

When you get the length you need make cute cuts at the end.

Now stitch on each mark to keep it together. You can do this by hand or sewing machine. I did it with my hands.

Now get the back of your photo frame with inside facing you and place the ribbons close to the edge and secure them with tape while you decide where you want them. When done just glue each ribbon with hot glue.

Place this back into the photo frame.

Tadaaaaa =D Almost done!

If your photo frame doesn’t have wall hangers the just use a thing ribbon strip to create your own hanger.

Doing the same process to place the hair bows ribbon. Glue each end of the hanger ribbon on both ends at the top of the photo frame {right in the opposite side of the hair bows ribbons}. See details for this on this post.

Tadaaaaaa ha ha! There you have it.

Then just organize all your hair bows as you like and your are done!!!
