Washi Tape Inspired Mod Podge Paper Organizer

Hello everyone! Have I mentioned that I’m getting addicted to washi tape? LOL. I’m aslo addicted to mod podge LOL. Since I can’t find easily washi tapes around here, I thought I could create my own kind with paper and glue! I tried this idea with a paper organizer and it turned out so cute!

I had so much fun making this. It’s easy too =D and the result is very colorful and decorative. I have it right next to my computer and it cheers me up every day. It sounds silly but it’s true =D!

You only need strips of scrapbooking paper, mod podge, a paper organizer and ribbon if you want to add an extra touch!

I made a cut on the strips so they seem like ribbons and started gluing each strip.

I placed the strips horizontally but each one is in different length.  I cover both sides and the front side of the organizer. Then cut the leftovers leaving about ½ inch.

Then I mod podged all the surface and leave it to dry for about 2 hours.

The final touch was a cute pink ribbon bow! Tadaaaaaaa!!!!

That’s it it’s done! Super easy and super cute!

What do you think? Do you like washi tape and mod podge as much as I do??? I would love to know all about it!

stopping by from Simply Dream & Create link up…good idea with the mod podge over the washi tape! I was covering formula containers with it but the tape was peeling…I’ll have to try coating them! also looking at your “make me a button” button…going to look into that! my button could use some TLC!

Love, Love Love! I had bought a plain white magazine holder like this a couple of months ago. This is so cute! I must makeover my plain holder now.
    Happy New Year!

that´s a great idea! I have too many white & boring organizers at home, so I will make my next project to “wahi them up” a bit ^ ^

I have seen these Washi tape crafts several times, but I guess I don’t get it. Is it like duct tape? Or is it specifically made for crafting? I love your improvisation with scrapbooking paper. It looks just like the tape. I don’t think I’d have the eye to come up with these cute projects. I mean, you need the paper, the ribbon, and the plain magazine holder/paper organizer. I just wouldn’t ever think to buy that stuff!

You have the cutest little projects. I’ll just enjoy your handiwork and maybe, one day, if we have a craft room or office or toy room, I’ll try some of them out!

Hi Bethany, Thanks so much for stopping by!. Washi tape is kind of like duck tape. I would say it’s more like a regular scotch tape but decorated. It has endless different patterns and you can use it in almost anything. Imagine you are wrapping a gift. You could wrap it with craft paper {the brown one} and instead of using a regular tape you could use some cute washi tape and your gift would be super cute. You can cover pens, making cute cards…possibilities are endless!!!! I bet you would get addicted to washi tape as much as I am if you tried!

Thanks you SO SO SO much for your sweet words. It makes my heart so happy to know people enjoy my work. You just made my day!!!

Leave me your lovely thoughts!
